Current Teaching

I work as a Mental Health Lecturer within the Mental Health and Social Care Dept at Middlesex University.  I teach across all the years and all of the programmes running in the Department, including BSc Mental Health Nursing, PGDip and Masters Mental Health Nursing, and also our Trainee Mental Health Worker programme.  I am Module Lead for several modules across our various programmes, and I lead in planning and developing the specialist mental health simulation experiences at StoneX.  I also work supporting small groups of students throughout their studies as an Academic Advisor.

Biography

I am a mental health nurse with over 30 years of clinical experience, specialising in child and adolescent mental health services for the last 25 years.  I trained, qualified and have worked in North Central London for the whole of my career, with the majority of that being based in Islington.  I have worked in both adult and adolescent acute mental health in-patient services, and I have worked extensively in the community supporting adolescence with acute, high-risk, chronic and complex mental health difficulties.  Most recently I have been a Senior Clinical Team Manager, Clinical Specialist and the Lead Nurse for Islington CAMHS, leading the development of acute and crisis mental health care and treatment for adolescents.

In early 2024 I made the move into educating the mental health nurses of the future, furthering the profession that I love.
