Biography

I am a qualified teacher and Senior Lecturer in Education, currentlyserving as the Programme Lead for the PG Cert Teaching and Postgraduate TeacherApprenticeship with QTS.   I am module lead for ‘School-Based Professional Practice’and ‘Assessment and Monitoring’ for PG Cert Teaching Programme, and ‘Contemporary Issues in Education’ and ‘Professional Practice in Learning and Teaching’ on the Teaching and Learning undergraduate programme. 

I teach, tutor and am a Lead Mentor on the Secondary PGCE, Employment-Based Initial Teacher Training  routes and teach on the Teaching and Learning undergraduate programmes. I deliver Professional Studies, with lead responsibility for Managing Behaviour.  I liaise with, and advise our Partnership Schoolson the various routes into Initial Teacher Education (ITE).  Additionally, I deliver mentor training and support mentors withinour partnership schools.

I am a School Governor at St George's Catholic Primary School, Enfield. Governing Lead on computing, maths, Pupil Premium, and the science curriculum. 

I have recently been awarded  National Professional Qualification in Leading Teacher Development (NPQTLD).

My previous experience includes leading the PGCE Computer Science andComputer Science Subject Knowledge Enhancement, GTP/School Direct, Primary PGCE, BAProgrammes, and the Academic Professional Apprenticeship at MiddlesexUniversity. 

I have a proven track record of success as a teacher, Head of Department and Head of Year in secondary education.

Currently, my interests lie in:

Supporting girls' education:   Identifying and addressing the unique challenges girls face. Considering ways to create initiatives that encourage girls to develop the skills and confidence needed to thrive in their academic and professional lives.

The use of AI in Education: Identifying ways to reducing workload, supporting academicresearch and examining the ethical implications of using AI.
