Research activities

Matina has published a  number of research papers in top academic journals. She has written book chapters on religious tourism and qualitative research methodologies as well as has presented various papers at conferences. One of her key priorities the last two years involves understandingreligious tourism within the realm of wellbeing and sustainability (submitted papers and awaiting decisions).

    Finally, Matina is member of the scientific and organising committee of the ICOT conferences since 2015 and serving as Reviewer in several tourism journals.


    Current Teaching

    Matina is currently the Module Leader for the Research Project module in MSc level and the MSc Dissertations' coordinator. She is also the Module Leader for the Hospitality and Events Practicum module, which features strong links with the industry. In the past she has also been involved in teaching Heritage Tourism, International Tourism Industry and Employability, and Tourism & Society.


    Biography

    Dr Matina Terzidou is a Senior Lecturer in Tourism atMiddlesex University London.  Matina holds a PhD and a MSc in Tourism Management from the University of Surrey, U.K. Prior to joining Middlesex University she was an Associate Lecturer at University of Surrey and a Visiting Lecturer at Ben-Gurion University, Israel for two years. Her main research interests lie in the areas of religious and heritage tourism as well as tourism impacts and development.
